mSync supports a versatile set of advanced features including:
- Fully Automated - The mSync service synchronizes handset data with the server without any user intervention. Synchronization can also be user-initiated, set by timers, handset events, customer care representatives, as well as via the web interface.
- Zero Click User Experience - The mSync agent is downloaded fully configured and ready to go. No additional user interaction is required.
- Device Independent Synchronization - Subscribers can backup any phone device and restore the data to any other device. The mSync service assures that data is restored correctly formatted - as if they were created on the target device.
- Multiple Devices on a Single Account - for Dual SIM: Subscribers can connect multiple different devices to a single account. Each device will be loaded with appropriately formatted and fully synchronized data, without data loss or corruption.
- Shared Group Address Books - Corporate users can create a company or department address book that automatically adds new members and updates member details in existing handset address books for all group members. Similarly, families or classmates can create their own shared group address book to be automatically updated and synchronized.
- Remote Wipe-out - If the user's mobile handset is lost or stolen, the user can send a remote command, through the website or customer care representative, to wipe-out the data stored on the device and to lock the device from further use.
- Network Address Book (NAB) and Network Calendar - Network Address Book and Network Calendar make the user's contact list and calendar available for additional services such as Voice Activated Dialing or a PC-based softphone.
- OMA-DS - In addition to NewACT's highly optimized mSync protocol, mSync is fully compatible with the OMA-DS (SyncML) v1.1 and 1.2 standards.
